New

I recorded a demo of a new song yesterday and posted it over at myspace/miafrate. It’s called “He Is Not Here.” It includes a bit from the old time song “Talk About Suffering.” Still collecting demos and ideas for an upcoming M Iafrate & the Priesthood record, and this may go on it, or I may end up recording a more stripped down solo record before the Priesthood record. We’ll keep you posted. Check out the song, though, if you like.

I’ve also been chatting with some local Toronto musicians about my plans to record a tribute to the St. Louis Jesuits, titled The Lord Hears the Cry of the Poor: Songs of the St. Louis Jesuits and some have expressed interest in helping with it. Recall that I pretty much finished a version of that record a few years ago but decided to scrap it because it didn’t have the feel that I wanted and my recording skills were quite a bit worse than they are now. So maybe that record will get moving pretty soon.

Finally, speaking of newness, I have been updating the WordPress versions that I have on my various sites and they seem to be updating just fine. I have held off updating this blog’s version of WordPress because it’s so old, but I’m going to attempt it sometime in the next day or so. If the blog implodes, you know what happened, but I suspect there will be no problems.
