the shirt can’t fail this time around.

and…is that a cloth diaper? do they fit now? yay! the shirt! the babe! the diaper!

i’ll answer the diaper question because he probably doesn’t know – as that was her FIRST cloth diaper! the prefolds & covers fit, but her legs are still too skinny for the fuzzibunz. she is a huge pee-er so i’m having to double her tiny little newborn prefolds no matter what the time of day, napping or not. i’m just using the xs fb inserts which i don’t have many of, so i’m hoping to find time to sew up all of my already-cut doublers TODAY. we put her in disposables at night because the i-feel-wet sensation was NOT a welcome one, and she was up really late yesterday (election excitement i guess:) so i didn’t want her having to wake up when she peed in the night – she was totally wiped out as it was. we’ll work up to nighttime cloth, i guess. i suppose now is the time to start ECing for that reason!

I’ve seen too many zombie movies to breathe a sigh of relief just yet.

There is something hauntingly grotesque about using your newborn infant to make a political statement.

    Sweet shirt. Sweet kid.

Now that you are a parent, all of the cliches will start coming true: “it goes by so fast”, blah blah blah. Don’t blink. —jn

Ahh… you see, we are really not that far apart. I have been reading a lot of Wendel Berry lately. His essay “Nature Consumers”, in the collection Long Legged House has been a recent inspiration. —jn

... I don’t know about the “Non-Violent Atonement”, though. Friend of mine is now “a crazy” due to that book. She picked it up at Seattle U. (Jesuit). ;) —jn

Technically, Bush is give or take 2 months.

    All the same..reason to celebrate.

Ok, fair enough, but that only shows how little you understand of this game, though I wish you the best of luck. I do wonder, however, what you will do when you wake up and discover a youngster in your household who espouses every political view you oppose. Good luck with planting the seeds: one more extremist right-winger in the world.

    Go away, okay?
